Rumors saying that an announcement for a PC version of “Grand Theft Auto V” on Christmas Eve proved to be untrue.

A German website posted a screenshot of an Amazon.com internal document, which said there would be developments on Christmas Eve. However, it is unclear if the document was Photoshopped or manipulated in some other way.

But The Sixth Axis website got a comment from an unnamed Amazon worker, who indicated that the PC version could come out February.

“Unfortunately we do not have an exact date for it to be in stock as of yet. You may think of to contact Rockstar for further information. We are expecting it next year by February, but no clear date is guaranteed for now,” the worker said.

There’s been some other indications that a PC version will come out, but it’s unclear when or if it will see daylight.

A report from The International Business Times, which cited a pre-order release from an undisclosed retailer in Norway, stated that the game could be released sometime around March 19, 2014.

Rockstar has not commented on the development--or even the existence--of a PC version of its most successful game ever.

The website WCCF Tech noted there’s more evidence of a PC version. It said that nearly every “AMD Catalyst Update contains the GTA V executable” binary. The website also notes that the PC version could have DX 11 and 2k Textures available for the PC.

After it was released earlier this year, “GTA V” went on to generate more than $1 billion in sales, and its sales numbers keep rising.

There’s also little indication that there will be an Xbox One or PlayStation 4 version.

The game is currently out for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3.

An online petition has gotten more than 500,000 signatures for a PC version. “I can’t believe we’ve gotten to 100,000 signatures! It’s unbelievable. Keep sharing this and we’ll catch Rockstar’s eye in no time. They must know we exist by now!” it reads.
