A groundbreaking ceremony for a new sports park in Santa Clara will take place on Aug. 30 afternoon, city officials said.
At 3:30 p.m. a groundbreaking for the Reed & Grant Sports Park will take place at Reed and Grant streets.
Construction on the sports park will begin in the fall. The park will have five lighted soccer fields, off-street parking, a playground, multipurpose building, and restrooms.
Residents and visitors are invited to hear remarks by Mayor Lisa Gillmor and enjoy refreshments.
Also attending will be the City Council and city manager Deanna Santana, among others from the city and community.
