Robert Griffin threw for 311 yards and four touchdowns Thursday as the Redskins scored 28 unanswered points in the second quarter and held on late for a 38 – 31 win.

The rookie Griffin threw touchdowns passes of 68, 59, and 6 yards to three different receivers in the second quarter alone as the Redskins held a 28–3 halftime lead. Running back Alfred Morris also found the end zone in the quarter on a one-yard run. Morris ended with 113 yards on 24 carries.

Griffin added another touchdown in the fourth to put the Redskins up 35–13, Dallas answered with a pair of scores to pull within 35–28 midway through the quarter, but were unable to complete the comeback.

Dallas’ Tony Romo threw for 441 yards on 37/63 passing and three touchdowns. He was picked twice.
