Caterina Scorsone, who plays Amelia Shepherd in “Grey’s Anatomy,” will be promoted as a series regular for next season.
According to TV Line, she resurrected her role as Dr. Shepherd in the show.
Scorsone told the website that she was hopeful Shonda Rhimes would keep Derek’s sister around for Season 11.
“There are so many complicated aspects to where this story could go in the future,” she told the site. “I would absolutely be game to play in this world as long as she wanted me there.”
Zap2It reported that after Season 10, she was optimistic.
“I sure hope so. I honestly do not know what is going to happen,” Scorsone told the site. “The hiatus is coming and upfronts are coming, writers are sitting down in the writers room starting to plan next year, so I don’t know what they have in store. But I’m absolutely game for whatever it might be!”
“Grey’s Anatomy” will return to ABC sometime in the fall of 2014.
The show released its first trailer for the upcoming season.
The video shows a flashback to when Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek (Patrick Dempsey) first began their relationship, which was in 2005.
Filming for the next season hasn’t yet started.
