The change to the opening scene kind of changes the entire plot of the movie, but it’s hard to tell if it’s for better or worse. It might have cost the film an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects, but Alfonso Cuaron and crew probably retain Best Director and Best Film Editing, don’t you think?
