Grand Central Terminal Bomb Scare Closes Subway Lines

NEW YORK—The Internet was rife with reports of a bomb scare at Grand Central Terminal Sunday night. No bomb was found.

At approximately 9:20 p.m. on Sunday a male called 911 claiming a bomb would explode at Grand Central Terminal according to DCPI, the police communications unit. The MTA temporarily shut down the 4, 5, and 6 lines, as well as the shuttle to Times Square.  

A 30 minute search yielded no bomb, and all train service resumed shortly after 10 p.m.
