The Go Transit public transportation system ordered 50 double-decker train coaches to add to the fleet for a total of 565 by the end of this year.

The cost for the production of these 50 coaches by Thunder Bay’s Bombardier plant will cost the city $125 million.

Ontario Minister of Transportation, Kathleen Wynne announced the plan Monday. The Go Transit system transports around 57 million passengers a year. The new coaches will provide an additional 8,000 potential passengers per day.
