“The Winds and Strings of Change: Glories of the Japanese Traditional Music Heritage” will allow you to experience something different this season. Performed by eminent masters of Japanese hogaku instruments, the concert is packed with traditional and innovative works in honor of Toru Takemitsu, a Japanese composer who received an honorary doctorate from Columbia University in 1996.

The program will take place at Columbia University’s Miller Theatre, located at 2860 Broadway, at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 16. For more information, visit www.carnegiehall.org.
