Salvado, Bahia, Brazil: Alcina Maria Bastos Roso, 66, Businesswoman: At that time we had no Internet and we watched many movies. I stayed in the neighborhood with the family, and with my little friends. I went out in groups to the beach, to the clubs, and we played many games. Nowadays, everything has changed—children are developing earlier; we have Internet and other things; it is the modernization, but the kids are losing their childhood. I quite enjoyed my childhood, as well as my adolescence, and my seniors. Let's be happy, life is too short.

Before modernization in terms of today’s lifestyle, enjoyable childhood pastimes were very simple, fun things to do. This was usually with a group of friends, family, or extended family members for some visits to places like the park or beach.
