Global Q&A: ‘What 5 things would you put in a time capsule today to represent your country to the future?’
Envigado, Colombia: Adriana María Velásquez, 50, Bachelor of Performing Arts: It is the toughest question I have ever been asked, because to only choose five things to bury in a time capsule from this abundant country is difficult. The first thing I would put in is all our rivers, two oceans, lakes, coffee, different climates, our biodiversity, panela—which is as important as our coffee—cycling, which is a representative sport of our country amongst others, and Colombian friendliness, because we welcome everyone. What I would highlight the most would be our environmental richness or biodiversity, for it acts as the world’s lungs. (Note: Panela is unrefined whole cane sugar.)
