Lima, Perú: Teresa Castillo, 39, Social Communicator: I do not consider it a viable option—it would not help at all. We know that mining damages the environment with the use of toxic substances for extraction, and why would we damage the Moon? Nowadays, here on Earth, the system requires mining exploitation; unfortunately they do not care for communities whose water and environment they're polluting. In theory, the exploiting companies say they are using methods of eco-care, but in reality one cannot tell the difference.

Thoughts on mining the Moon vary from: it will happen in the near future, a high financial cost, and  concerns about the probable pollution of the Moon. Some hope for money to currently be spent on feeding the hungry and dying.
