Global Q&A: ‘In your country, are women taking more prominent roles in society?’
Sunshine Coast, Australia: Tanisha Ison, 25, High School Teacher: Women taking more prominent roles in society! I’d like to think they are, but I think it’s a very slow moving process unfortunately. I feel that, especially when I was choosing my role, my occupation, when I was young, when I was thinking about it, I felt that my only decision, my only choice I had were women’s roles, which is kind of why I became a teacher. I think that we’re getting a little bit more open minded now to the idea of women being able to step up and take on those manly masculine roles.
