Global Q&A: ‘How would you change your national Anthem to better reflect your country’s image?’
Toowoomba, Australia: Drew Rickard, 29, Student in Bachelor of Social Science and Anthropology / Part-time Rigger: In regards to the national anthem, I think it’s outdated basically in the way we view multiculturalism and how we should be embracing that more. I think it’s fairly colonial still, especially the verses that we don’t always focus on. We probably have to completely replace it in a view to focus more on what Australia is, as far as multiculturalism and different ethnicities.

Some national anthems await a face-lift to embrace multiculturalism and globalization whereas other anthems may need very little or no adjustments.
