Global Q&A: ‘Does your community participate in Earth Hour, where all lights are turned off for one hour?’
Brisbane, Australia: Jordan Sawyer, 24, Marketing Consultant: We turn everything off. I think it’s really valuable, I need to turn all my phones off, every gadget and gizmo, and we talk to each other. And actually it’s a sociable thing, as well as a positive, environmental action. I have spoken to neighbours and others to come over and play monopoly by candle light, whatever, with no background noise from T.V., iPads, everything off, lights off, and just enjoy the planet.
