Lima, Peru: Ida Rodriguez, 41, Specialist in Information Technology: I do not take precautions. I think having my ID with my fingerprint is enough. Identity theft is a very delicate issue; usually committed by a felon; it is misused and causes great harm. Here, there are more cases of namesakes. It probably occurs more in other technologically advanced countries, we are not so advanced in this aspect.

Options include taking precautions initially and/or being careful on a daily basis, as opposed to not being concerned, knowing for example a credit card can be cancelled. This is what Epoch Times reporters from areas such as Peru to Brazil discovered when they asked locals,
