Global Q&A: ‘Do you keep up with the news?’
Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Sakina Vajihi, 21, Journalism and Public Relations Student: In my opinion keeping up to date with the news is regarded as a necessity of modern life. It keeps us in touch with the current affairs of the world. Being a student, I sense the need to constantly educate myself with the latest news in order to understand the way society works. The news not only informs me, but helps me brush up on my vocabulary and grammar, which is very useful when it comes to communicating with people. I feel that if you are aware about many things, people take you more seriously, and it’s easier to be heard and understood on a professional level.
