The New York Giants selected Virginia Tech running back David Wilson with the final pick of the first round in the 2012 NFL draft. Wilson, a junior, rushed for 1,709 yards on 290 carries and nine touchdowns last year for the Hokies after gaining 619 yards the year before. Wilson also caught 22 passes last season.

The 5'9” 206 pound Wilson started all 14 games last year at Virginia Tech.

The Giants had a clear need at running back after the departure of Brandon Jacobs to the San Francisco 49ers.
