This Sunday’s game between the New York Giants (6–5) and the Dallas Cowboys (8–3) is a pivotal game for Big Blue, as a loss would mean they’d have to win their final four games to have a chance at a wild card spot.

Some could say there may be hope for New York in this game because the month of December hasn’t been kind to Dallas in recent years and usually starts a downward spiral of sorts for Tony Romo and company.

But since Week 5, the Cowboys have won six out of seven games and are one game ahead of Philadelphia and two games ahead of the Giants for the NFC East division lead.

A large reason for the Cowboys success is the improved play of QB Tony Romo who commands the league’s 10th best passing attack, averaging 254.1 yards per game.

Giants defensive coordinator Bill Sheridan knows how dangerous Dallas’s offense is. Speaking with www.giants.com, he said, “They have really explosive offensive players and they have made a bunch of big plays. And they spread the ball around so they have a lot of different guys doing it.”

Along with his improved accuracy, Romo also has a new weapon he didn’t have in that first meeting with the Giants, when Dallas lost their opening match at their new stadium 33–31. And that weapon is New Jersey native, wide receiver Miles Austin.

Since the Cowboys have gone on their seven-game tear, Austin has emerged as the Cowboys receiving threat, amassing 743 yards, seven touchdowns, and averaging 20.1 yards per catch.
