A Canadian man has insisted that his steer is among of the largest in the world and even larger than Knickers, the steer from Australia that went viral earlier this week due to its large size.

Karl Schoenrock, who runs Kismet Creek Farm, a sanctuary for animals near Winnipeg, Manitoba, said Dozer is about an inch taller than Knickers.

Knickers was measured at 6 feet, 4 inches tall and Dozer reportedly is measured at 6 feet, 5 inches tall. Both are Holstein cows, according to the Daily Mail. Schoenrock recently measured the animal and found Dozer was 6 feet, 5 inches tall. In comparison, former Chicago Bulls superstar Michael Jordan is 6 feet, 6 inches tall, and current Houston Rockets star James Harden is 6 feet, 5 inches tall.
“He’s just the friendliest animal,” Schoenrock told the New York Post. “He’s not very intimidating at all, except for his size. If you stood next to him he’ll just lay down next to you.”

He said Dozer, like Knickers, was saved from the slaughterhouse. A vegan woman named Rebecca Hanuschuk brought the cow to the sanctuary from a beef-producing farm in Alberta, Canada, the Post reported.

“I was reading out in their pasture one day and Dozer came to me. I just sat there looking at him until he came close enough for me to pet. After that, I went back to the pasture every day and we created a bond,” Hanuschuk told Steinbach Online.

“As he kept getting older, his size kept getting bigger and I was taken aback. I was not expecting this to happen,” she added, saying Dozer grew to 3,000 pounds.

It’s likely that Dozer won’t live for too much longer, said Hanuschuk, due to his large size.

“He doesn’t stop growing,” said Hanuschuk. “The tendons in his back legs are beginning to break down a bit as a result of his size.”

Knickers was spared because he is simply too large for slaughter, his owner said.

Neither animal is a technically a cow, however.

Both are steers, which are are bulls that have been castrated.

On average, Holsteins weigh about 1,500 pounds and are 58 inches tall at the shoulder.

The Holsteins breed is known for being quite tall, according to an industry website about the animals. “Holsteins are most quickly recognized by their distinctive color markings and outstanding milk production. Holsteins are large cattle with color patterns of black and white or red and white,” it says.

Knickers’s Massive Appetite

Every day, Knickers eats 70 pounds of natural green pasture and cereal grain, his owner, Geoff Pearson, said.
