Gia Allemand, a former star of the “Bachelor” season 14, was declared brain dead in after she was hospitalized earlier this week, according to a report on Wednesday. However, other media, citing hospital and family sources, reported that she died.

Citing her family, E! News reported that she was declared brain dead on Wednesday. But hospital source told People magazine and other media outlets she died.

It appears that E! News redacted the bit about her being declared brain dead.

A family member also confirmed with TMZ that she died.

It is unclear what caused her death.

“@GiaAllemand is on life support w little pulse and barely breathing ..cause unknown ..next 48 hours critical please pray for Gia everyone,” her close friend, Melinda Farina, wrote on Twitter this week.

The 29-year-old model was taken to University Hospital in New Orleans on Monday.

Allemand’s mother and her boyfriend, Ryan Anderson, who plays for the New Orleans Pelicans, were by her side when she passed away, according to E! News.

On Twitter, a number of people expressed their condolences.
