A German tourist snuck past security and climbed on top of the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, but was eventually caught by police.

18-year-old Andrej Ciesielski bragged about his climb while posting pictures and videos to Facebook and YouTube.

“The view from the top to the other pyramid--it was really, really amazing,” he said in the video.

The teen claimed it took him just eight minutes to reach the top of the 481-foot pyramid, although it took 20 minutes to descend.

The Great Pyramid of Giza is the oldest and largest pyramid in the Giza pyramid complex and one of the oldest and largest in the entire world.

It’s been pegged by some experts as having been constructed around 2550 BC.

Tourists are permitted to enter the pyramid during opening hours, but climbing to the top is illegal.

Ciesielski said he was eventually caught by police but spent only about an hour in a police station and was not charged with any crime.
