A deputy was shot and injured at the Forsyth County Courthouse in Georgia, according to local reports.
WSBTV reported that the deputy was hit in the leg at the courthouse, which is located in the town of Cumming located about 40 miles north of Atlanta.
Forsyth County Sheriff Suane Piper told WSBTV that the shooter was dead.
The deputy had been working with the department for 25 years.
The assailant was armed with an assault rifle, a bulletproof vest, smoke grenades, and a gas mask.
When he was spotted, deputies came out and confronted the man.
It’s unclear how the suspect was killed.
