A target riddled with bullets was left at the home of Shellie Zimmerman’s parents after George Zimmerman was told to move out.
The pair are in the midst of divorce proceedings.
The target was nailed to a wall and riddled with 17 bullet holes in the home, according to a report by Radar Online.
A source with intimate knowledge of the situation said that the last person inside the home before the target was found was George, who had been asked to collect his belongings and then leave.
“This is the photo that Shellie sent to her lawyer and said, ‘Look at the subliminal message George left me,’ following their showdown in September,” the source said.
“What else could a bullet-riddled marksman’s target mean?”
Another source said: “It’s really not that subliminal. A not-so subtle message, I think. It was clearly a threat.”
George and Shellie got into a fight at Shellie’s parents home about a month ago, but no charges were pressed because Shellie said she feared going to jail because she’s on probation.
George is known for killing an unarmed black youth in Florida in early 2012. He was acquitted by a jury in summer 2013.
