CNBC reported on August 14 that billionaire investor George Soros sold his entire stake in J.C. Penney, but later issued a correction.

“CORRECTION: Soros adds to his J.C. Penney stake; Soros adds 2M shares to his stake of J.C. Penney,” the media outlet tweeted

It had earlier reported that Soros had sold his entire stake in the clothing and retail company.

J.C Penney’s stock dipped after the news that Sores had sold his entire stake but began rising again after CNBC’s correction.
