Garth Brooks sued: Country superstar Garth Brooks was sued by his former partner for $425,000, claiming the singer got her to work on his behalf for decades with the promise that she would reap huge benefits.

Lisa Sanderson, who worked as a producer for several TV movies, claimed that Brooks did not return the favor after she got him movie and television work, according to Billboard magazine.

She accused Brooks, whom she worked with for 20 years, of being “paranoid, angry, deceitful and vindictive,” and who would “turn against those closest to him on a dime,” according to the magazine.

It alleges that he is “willing to lie to avoid paying his debts, and he revels in using his vast wealth and influence to crush anyone” who stands in his way, the suit said. Sanderson, it said, is the “latest victim” of Brooks’ alleged misdeeds.

Sanderson said Brooks promised a 50 percent profit sharing agreement, but he never carried out his side of the agreement and merely used his “infectious charisma” to keep her working at Red Strokes Entertainment, a company he founded.

A representative for Brooks denied claims laid out in the lawsuit.

“Mr. Brooks, of course, denies everything in the lawsuit filed today by Lisa Sanderson. Mr. Brooks and Red Stokes Entertainment Inc. will continue to take the necessary steps toward resolving this matter through the legal system,” a representative for Red Strokes told E! News.
