Sophie Goudreau received a most touching birthday present this year. And its reverberations are now felt by millions as it was captured on video and went viral.

On April 3, Goudreau’s husband Gary took her to an afternoon concert of the world-famous country singer and songwriter Garth Brooks in Ottawa, Canada.

She held a sign requesting Brooks to sing his song “Mom” for her birthday.

During the encore, Brooks first led the audience to sing “Happy Birthday” for her.

Then he Goudreau why she picked the song “Mom.”

“Are you a mamma?” he asked.

She then tells him that she lost her son Antoine five years ago. He was only 3 and a half.

After a short exchange Brooks starts to sing the song and Goudreau bursts into tears and her husband consoles her.

“The most memorable birthday I could ever ask for! Thank you Garth Brooks, Gary for taking me to the show for my birthday, to the fan who took this video (I could’t even remember half of what happened. I was so stunned!) and to Antoine for showing up on my birthday in a spectacular way!” Goudreau commented on Youtube, where a user Kasey Salem uploaded the video of the the episode.

She continued: “I had requested to Antoine and God in a prayer before the show that Garth sings this song for me especially. I never imagined it would turnout to be such a divinely well orchestrated moment! Garth Brooks is nothing short of a class act. That is what I love the most about him, the quality of his heartfelt lyrics, his genuine love for his fans and of course, his God given talent.”
