China’s famous human rights lawyer Gao Zhisheng was taken away by police at noon on Friday, Jan. 13. Civil rights activists in mainland China, including Mr. Qi Zhiyong, Mr. Guo Feixiong, and Mr. Hu Jia, strongly condemned the act. They asked people from all walks be informed so that they can call for the release of Gao Zhisheng.

According to a notice from Geng He, Gao Zhisheng’s wife, Gao Zhisheng was taken away by police at 12:20 p.m. Geng He asked “all friends to pay close attention to the progress of the event.”

The Epoch Times called Gao Zhisheng and Geng He several times and could not get through.

Civil rights activist Guo Feixiong had left Beijing on Thursday and arrived in Hebei Province. He showed his anger toward the CCP’s arrest of Gao. He said “It is illegal to arrest Gao Zhisheng. We strongly ask the CCP to release Gao. Otherwise, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) will pay a heavy price on it.”

Guo also said that “Now that the CCP has arrested Gao, the next target will be me. Maybe they will take me away this afternoon. Please use our names to call people around the world. Ask people of all walks of life in China and in the world to stand up and speak out.”
