Shen Yun in Costa Mesa

Shen Yun Performing Arts returns to Segerstrom Center for the Arts, featuring classical Chinese dance, music, and costumes.

Shen Yun’s mission is to revive the 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture that was destroyed by the Chinese Communist Party.

Unfortunately, Shen Yun is banned in China. But the show tours around the world every year with a brand new production.

Segerstrom Hall, Segerstrom Center for the Arts at 600 Town Center Dr., Costa Mesa. Thursday through Sunday at 7:30 p.m., Sunday show starts at 1:00 p.m. Tickets $90 to $200.

California Writers Club in Anaheim

Free Library Craft Day For Kids in Irvine

Families are invited to the University Park Library the first Saturday of each month for a free craft day for kids of all ages. Each month has a special craft theme, and families with young children are advised to arrive at later times to avoid large crowds.

Thoughtful Playdates on Fridays in Newport Beach

Holi Festival of Colors By The Sea

Families with children of all ages are invited to the annual Holi Festival by the Sea, celebrating an ancient south Asian tradition of the triumph of good over evil. This vibrant event includes colorful dye for participants to throw, as part of the holiday tradition along with dancing, music, and much more.

Children under 12, free. Participants will receive two free packs of dye for throwing.
