Frog salad: A San Antonio woman found a frog in a bag of salad, purchased on May 3 at a Target store.

“It felt sticky, and slimy,” Alma Rubio, the woman, told local broadcaster News 4. “I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.”

She said she purchased the Fresh Express Spinach and Tomatoes salad bag. She had been eating from it for several days and was close to finishing the bag.

Rubio said the frog was missing a leg, which she suspects she ate. She took pictures of the frog and took both the bag and frog to Target.

Target gave her a refund and said it would take up the issue with the salad manufacturer, Chiquita, which sent Rubio eight coupons as an apology.

Target told News 4 an investigation has been launched.
