Frederic Prinz von Anhalt, Zsa Zsa Gabor’s husband, was rushed to a hospital in Los Angeles Tuesday after he accidentally glued his eyelid shut.
Von Anhalt’s publicist John Blanchette told CNN that Anhalt accidentally grabbed his wife’s nail glue instead of eye drops and squeezed it into his eye while going through his morning routine at the couple’s Beverly Hills home.
“It was stupid,” Von Anhalt said of the incident to New York Daily News.
Von Anhalt, 67, was doped with painkillers and underwent surgery to reopen his eyelid.
Upon returning home, von Anhalt took the glue out of the bedroom straight away. He will need to wear an eye patch for the next two weeks, according to the Daily News.
The German socialite was adopted as an adult by Princess Marie-Auguste of Anhalt, the Daily News reported.
