A man is dead and a woman was injured in a severe crash involving a Lamborghini on Sunday morning, Nov. 5, in San Diego, California, according to local media reports.

Michael Llamas, 33, a medical marijuana millionaire, was speeding at more than 100 mph, CBS 8 reported. He smashed into a palm tree early Sunday before the vehicle burst into flames.

A police officer was in the area as the crash took place and was there in a few moments, police said. But even then, it was likely too late.

A woman inside Llamas’s car was ejected and she was hospitalized, the CBS affiliate reported.

Llamas is the founder of Medical Marijuana Inc., a firm that’s worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

“The company has learned that Michael Llamas died in a traffic accident over the weekend in San Diego. The company mourns the loss of one of its visionary founders. Mr. Llamas was an incredible philanthropist and changed countless lives throughout the world,” the company said in a statement.

He also served as CEO of the Poway company, which sells hemp products, The San Diego Union-Tribune reported.

Llamas was found dead in the driver’s seat, reports say.

The medical examiner hasn’t confirmed his death, but a number of media outlets have.

The condition of the female passenger injured in the crash is unknown, 10News reported.
