Fort Worth police are investigating the deaths of a mother and her 3-month-old son whose bodies were found in bed at their home.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office on Friday identified the pair as 36-year-old Shanna Vandewege and her son, Diederick. The boy was born Sept. 5.
Medical examiner case records list the baby’s death as a homicide caused by a cut wound to the neck. The records don’t yet list manner or cause of death for the mother.
Their bodies were discovered Thursday night. Homicide investigators are handling the case.
Officer Daniel Segura says Fort Worth police went to the house after receiving a call from Saginaw police reporting a man had arrived at the home and found the woman and child dead.
