A former NFL player and actor was arrested on a felony charge of inflicting corporal injury, according to a report.
Officials arrested Rossovich after a 911 call that led deputies to his Wildwood home, located in northeastern California.
“Deputies responded, located the suspect,” sheriff’s Capt. Shannan Moon told the paper. “The suspect was intoxicated.”
Rossovich was arrested on domestic violence charges last year, according to reports.
A Nevada County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence in the 19000 block of Wildwood West Drive at about 10:20 p.m. for a report of a man “bleeding out,” according to dispatch reports. The call originally went to Yuba City Police, and when they attempted to transfer, it was an open line with a dispute heard in the background. Another caller reported the man had been bitten by a dog, dispatch reports said.
When the deputy arrived, he found a man identified as Rossovich, who had both arms wrapped in towels, and he appeared to have been bleeding, said Sheriff Keith Royal. He also reportedly had bandages on his legs.
He played linebacker for the Philadelphia Eagles, the San Diego Charges, and the Houston Oilers—going to the Pro Bowl once back in 1969. He also had several acting roles in the 1980s and 1990s, including “Love Boat,” “Knight Rider,” and “Night Shift.” He played college football at the University of Southern California.
Somewhat famously, in 1971, he set himself on fire during a Sports Illustrated photo shoot.
