A would-be robber entered a gas station to try to get some cash, but he had a big surprise coming.

Aaron Jacobs was the clerk on duty at the BP in Lenexa, Kansas that day. Little did the robber know that Jacobs was a former Marine combat instructor.

He also boasts a black belt in karate.

Even though the robber was able to sneak close to Jacobs and was wielding a knife, Jacobs quickly took the robber down.

“When you train in martial arts you train your body to react,” Jacobs told KCTV5. “I don’t think he was expecting to run into someone that was going to be aggressive. I don’t think he thought I was going to throw him into a chip rack and almost break his arm.”

Jacobs mentioned afterward that his main concern was not messing up the shop, because he had to clean up after the situation.
