Former Legislator: ‘It is Taiwan people’s good luck to see Shen Yun’

TAIPEI, Taiwan—After watching Shen Yun Performing Arts New York Company perform at Dr. Sun Yat-sun Memorial Hall on the afternoon of March 24, former Legislator Lin Leshan said that he didn’t realise such a fabulous performance existed.

Lin Leshan expressed his pride in Shen Yun, saying that people in Taiwan are very lucky to be able to see such a magnificent performance. However, he thought that millions more people in Taipei should be watching the show.

“I even didn’t know that such a wonderful performance would perform in Taipei. The population of the great Taipei area is in the millions. We should let more people know of this wonderful performance. Only 10,000 plus people attending the performance is not enough. It is too little,” Mr. Lin said.

The New-York-based Shen Yun is the world’s foremost classical Chinese dance and music company. Shen Yun seeks to revive and restore China’s 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture, including the spirit and values of the culture.

Mr. Lin was touched by the young dancers, and their ability to portray the essence of China’s divinely-imparted culture.

“Seeing our younger generations perform so seriously [to promote the Chinese culture], I would say they are really great,” he said.

Lin Leshan was accompanied by his friend Mr. Cai Shunfu, a manager of the Chinatrust Real Estate. Mr, Cai was seeing Shen Yun for the first time, and came all the way from Hualien to watch the performance.

“It is very overwhelming, as the program is very creative. The lyrics are also very touching. They can purify people’s hearts and human society,” Mr. Cai said.
