Jim Owen, 77, wrote a book  "Just Move! A New Approach to Fitness After 50.

According to Owen the key is the mental motivation. Overcoming the hardships he came across a statistic from Male Life that said that if you make it to 70 you will live another 15  years. Looking in the mirror he was 25 pounds over weight and thought tat if he looked like now then is was down hill for him, so he started working out.

Owen’s best advice is don’t over think it and show up and do the work.
