As of Sunday, the first family was reunited in the White House. A tweet and Facebook post from first lady Melania Trump revealed that she and son Barron, 11, had made the move to Washington, D.C.
“Looking forward to the memories we’ll make in our new home! #Movingday” she tweeted Sunday evening with a photo of the Washington Monument taken from the White House Red Room.

The move was delayed several months so that Barron could finish out the school year before starting a new life and new school in Washington.
The president had repeatedly explained the delay and said his family would be joining him when the school year was done.
The first lady’s spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, confirmed the move.

Barron will attend St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Potomac, Maryland. He is entering the sixth grade.
Melania Trump has been slowly adjusting to the role of first lady. While many first ladies are married to career politicians, Trump’s unexpected presidency win brought the new FLOTUS into the role without the years of adjustment most first lady’s experience.
She’s been gradually increasing her exposure and taking on the expected duties of a first lady, including joining the president on his nine-day journey through Saudi Arabia, Israel, Italy, and Belgium.
During the campaign, the first lady said she would work on cyberbullying as an issue, and has also shown support for military veterans. With her move into the White House, media attention will likely intensify.
