Rare fire tornado hits BrazilBrazilian acreage caught fire as a whirlwind of flames burned through fields beside the road northwest of Aracatuba in Sao Paulo State.

The rare fire tornado captured on video was described by Australia’s Herald Sun as a fire “devil”  stopping traffic as motorists gaped at the phenomenon.

The whirlwind of flames spiralled several metres high, but as quickly as the tornado appeared, the roaring twister fizzled down and just a smouldering line in the land remained.

The firestorm followed a drought which has led to brush fires across Brazil.

{etRelate 41638}It has been three months since it last rained in the region and Sao Paulo State is already suffering from high pollution levels, the Herald Sun reported.
