Facebook and Twitter users have been sharing posts that imagine the apocalypse is set to take place after a prompt from The Walking Dead.

If the apocalypse happened right now… What would your last post be?” the show’s official page said.

The prompt started a trend on Twitter and has also generated hundreds of responses on Facebook.

“I love you all, stay alive, head north. You know where I'll be,” said one Facebook user.

“To any survivors who read this before the power goes out, we are the survivors from (said area). We are heading towards (nearest iconic landmark). We will wait for any survivors for 24 hours (from said date). We will be heading away from populated areas and to (nearest unpopulated countryside). All Survivors welcome. Zombies will be shot on site. Any zombie survivors will be shot again. P.s we have cookies!” added another.

“Looking for a samori sword or crossbow...will trade for iPhone 6,” added yet another.

“They’re messing with the wrong people,” said a Twitter user, referencing the last quote on The Walking Dead season 4.

“What’s all the commotion outside? And why isn’t anyone answering their phone?” added another.

“brb there’s someone at the door!” said another.
