Filming Starts on ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII,’ Due Out December 2017

Filming has begun on “Star Wars: Episode VIII,” after the highly successful release of “Episode VII” in December 2015.

Filming started on Monday, Feb. 15.

Many of the main characters from “Episode VII” will return, including Luke Skywalker, Rey, and Poe Dameron.

New additions include Benicio Del Toro, Laura Dern, and Kelly Marie Tran.

The film is written and directed by Rian Johnson, known for his work on the movie Looper.

Initially scheduled for a December 2016 release, “Episode VIII” is now slated to hit theaters on Dec. 15, 2017.
