Female DNA on bomb: Investigators said that female DNA was found on one of the bombs that detonated at the finish line of the Boston Marathon, it was reported.
Authorities have not been able to determine whose DNA it is or whether it means that a female handled or helped make the bomb before it detonated two weeks ago, killing three and injuring 170, reported the Wall Street Journal.
“No one should expect that the investigation is over,” a source close to the investigation told Fox News.
The source said it is just one bit of evidence authorities are investigating.
According to CBS News, the source of the DNA could have been from a clerk who handled the bomb materials.
FBI agents on Monday went to the Rhode Island home of Katherine Russell, the widow of bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev, according to the network.
Sources told the broadcaster that the agents went there to get a DNA sample from Russell to compare it to DNA found on the bomb.
