An undisclosed threat forced the lockdown of Sacajawea Middle School and Todd Beamer High School in Federal Way, Washington, on Tuesday.
Threats were sent to both schools, Federal Way Public Schools said on its website.
The nature of the threat has not been revealed.
The school district said that “students and staff are safe and additional security is on site.”
“Please do not call or come to the schools at this time. Parents are being notified and will receive updates through the emergency call-out system,” it said.
The district will also update its Facebook page and its website.
