A Fire Department of New York  (FDNY) firefighter was killed by an apparent drunk driver in New Jersey while he was riding his motorcycle to work, it was reported.

ABC-7 on Friday reported that the firefighter, who was not identified, was 57 years old.

He was riding his motorcycle when he was involved in an accident on North Avenue and Vivian Terrace in Union Township after 5 a.m.

The driver of the vehicle was charged with a DWI and was arrested.
