FBI Director James Comey said on May 11 less Americans are leaving the country to fight with ISIS.

He says the extremist group’s influence in the United States has decreased. Comey revealed that the number of Americans traveling to join ISIS went from half-dozen or more a month in the previous year and a half down to one person per month.

The FBI director said there’s “no doubt” that something has happened to decrease the level of interest of ISIS to Americans.

Comey said the FBI has “north of 1,000” cases in which authorities are trying to evaluate a subject’s level of radicalization and potential for violence.

Out of those cases, about 80 percent of them are linked to ISIS, Comey said, according to ABC News.
