FBI Boston boat: FBI investigators have removed the boat that Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev used as a hiding spot.

The boat, which was parked in the backyard of a Watertown, Mass., home, was taken by authorities as evidence, reported Reuters.

In the incident more than a week ago, Tsarnaev hid inside the boat after a massive police manhunt that left Boston locked down.

Tsarnaev was noticed when the owner of the boat lifted the tarp and saw blood.

Police then found Tsarnaev, who was suffering from serious injuries and was apprehended last Friday night..

Tsarnaev, 19, was taken from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he was recovering from a throat wound and other injuries during his escape attempt, to a federal medical facility earlier this week, reported The Associated Press.

“It’s where he should be; he doesn’t need to be here anymore,” Beth Israel patient Linda Zamansky told AP.

The FBI also searched a landfill in New Beford for more evidence related to the bombing.

“We were seeking evidence but we are not commenting on the nature of what was being sought or what was found,” FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller told Reuters. “We can confirm that we were there Thursday, Friday and left yesterday.”

Tsarnaev and his slain brother, Tamerlan, are suspected of masterminding the twin bombings at the end of the Boston Marathon, killing three and wounding dozens more.
