Farrah Abraham had a lip injection go awry, and the effect could be permanent.
The reality television star posted pictures of herself in the hospital with gigantic lips after the botched injection.
It seems that the effects could last for good, or at least partially.
“Some people inject unapproved substances that are not sterile or meant for human injection (like commercial liquid silicone) or products made in other countries. This is almost always done by non-board-certified plastic surgeons and can have devastating effects including tissue necrosis and permanent loss,” plastic surgeon John Zannis told Hollywood Life.
“Always beware of who is injecting your face and make certain that if they are a plastic surgeon, that they are certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.”
Zannis noted that the swelling could have also stemmed from the surgeon doing the procedure hitting a blood vessel, or perhaps Abraham had a rare inflammatory response to the filler.
Abraham didn’t reveal much about what happened, just posting pictures on Twitter.
“Gotta love my new look,” she said.
She did say that she was rushed to the emergency room to deal with the problem.
“Girlfriends don’t say I didn’t warn ya ! #BOTCHED California #ER #fixit,” she said.
