[xtypo_dropcap]C[/xtypo_dropcap]ornell University's research farm in Freeville, N.Y., says it donated more than 141,000 pounds of fresh produce to local pantries in 2010.
The Homer C. Thompson Research Farm in Freeville, also says among the recipients of its farm fresh produce in 2010 included Elmira’s Food Bank of the Southern Tier, Ithaca’s Friendship Donations Network, and Cortland’s Loaves and Fishes.
Since 2004, the farm has donated over 1.1 million pounds of vegetables and fruit including potatoes, sweet corn, snap beans, cabbage, peppers, tomatoes, melons, winter squash, and pumpkins
