A number of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp users have said the websites are down.
The outage started after about 12 p.m. ET on March 13. According to testing done by The Epoch Times, as of 4:15 p.m. ET, Facebook was still down.
On Twitter, the term #Facebookdown trending for much of the day, with users lamenting that they could not post anything or even log into the website. Some couldn’t post photos.
On the website Downdetector.com, there were “problems at Facebook.” And thousands of people commented.

“Both FB and WhatsApp are having issues today,” wrote one person.
People from all over the United States and other countries said they could not access the website and received error messages.
Facebook confirmed the outage.
“We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble accessing the Facebook family of apps,” a Facebook spokesperson told CNET. “We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.”

Facebook’s ad products were also being affected, according to CNET.
On Twitter, a number of users posted memes and jokes about the outage.
