Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg has been named TIME Magazine’s 2010 Person of the Year for connecting more than half a billion users via the social network, and creating an information exchange network that maps out social relations in a life-changing way.

And if that isn’t impressive enough, Facebook has received a 4.6 out of 5 company rating, topping the third annual Employee’s Choice Awards at Glassdoor.com, which lists Facebook as the number one place to work in 2011, based on the 59 reviews given by its employees.

Most reviews on the site mention Facebook as “a great place to work,” and employees appreciate the free food, dry cleaning, and concerts, according to PC Magazine, which added there was also some feedback complaining of excessive meetings and poor management outside the products team.

Zuckerberg, who received a 96 percent approval rating at Glassdoor.com, explained his longstanding ambition for Facebook to TIME Magazine.

“The thing that I really care about is making the world more open and connected,” he said. “Open means having access to more information, right? More transparency, being able to share things, and have a voice in the world.

“And connected is helping people stay in touch and maintain empathy for each other, and bandwidth.”

Considering it is barely two months since Zuckerberg’s reputation was on the line with the release of the controversial Facebook movie The Social Network, it seems any critics may be silenced for the time being!
