Erik Ortiz Cruz is the 10-month-old boy that underwent brain surgery recently, thanks to the 60,000 euro donation from Portugal football star Cristiano Ronaldo.
It appears that Ronaldo has cut his hair to mirror the scar that Cruz has following the surgery.
A photo on Tumblr shows the young Erik preparing to get surgery.
He has a brain abnormality that caused up to 30 seizures a day, reported Metro.
Ronaldo has reportedly pledged to pay for follow-up care as well.
He’s also helping to raise money for the family by donating signed items to a charity auction.
The official World Cup account on Instagram shared a photo of Ronaldo’s haircut (seen above), and alleged that the haircut actually shows the number 7.
“7: a shirt number, but also the number of games @cristiano wants to play at this #WorldCup. Barbers will be asked for this around the world tomorrow! #Portugal #Copa2014.”
There’s no confirmation yet whether Ronaldo’s haircut was in support of young Erik.
